During long time, it has been thought that the networks of neuronal connections of the adult human brain remained fixed and that, once established in the first years of our life, did not return to modify itself.
Until recently, the specialists thought that, once last that first childhood, was impossible that any new change in the “neuronal wiring” occurred. Nevertheless, diverse discoveries are demonstrating that the adult brain is not static but that, in fact, is very dynamic.
One of the last investigations in this respect has been the made one by the scientists of the Rockefeller University of the United States, Charles D. Gilbert, Arthur Ross and Janet Ross. Their results have demonstrated that the adult brain is modified continuously as a result of the experience.
