The motociclismo as sport, originates logically, after there having been invented the motorcycle, which appeared in Germany in 1885, year in which Gottlieb Daimler installed an engine of combustion to a bicycle of wood.

This performance sport, which has become popular in the 20th century, has been characterized for taking different modalities, so much for the pilotage of the motorcycle, the differences of tracks, the different cylinder capacities: careers in tracks of mud or mud, careers of dragsters, in tracks of grass or lawn, in tracks of ice, resistance in track, trial of observation, road, sidecars, speedway, acceleration, trial timed and motocross.
