THE LION AND HIS HAIR

Of all living things we know, the species Panthera leo, or as we call normal, The Lion, is one that attracts us most.
Peculiar lion among cats is the hair that grows them males. The abundance and length of hair of the mane varies by location. In some regions hardly distinguishes them, while other sites are growing long across the head and body until past the front legs. The hair color is usually a bit darker than the rest of body yellow-brown but can vary from black to white.
As the principal male role of protecting the herd (of other lions, lions, hyenas and other predators) estimates that the hair meets two needs. The pretend to be bigger than it actually is.
The other alleged role of the lion mane is protected during the current fighting.
